Winter Furnace Maintenance

Winter is prime-time for your furnace in terms of use, as the temperatures can drop to extremely low levels in Minnesota. You'll be incredibly reliant on your furnace to heat your home and allow you to live comfortably, so it's important that you take the necessary steps to make sure your furnace is ready for such a vital duty.

Keeping your furnace clean is one way to avoid a lot of trouble. When dirt and dust accumulate in and around your furnace, it can at first affect efficiency, which makes your furnace work harder to produce the same heat, and results in high energy bills. If you don't nip the problem in the bud, however, bigger problems can emerge.

Cleaning and replacing your furnace filters is another job to put on your winterizing checklist. If you can pull your furnace filter out, hold it up to a light and not see the outline of the bulb, your filter is way too dirty and needs to be replaced immediately.

Performing these two tasks can do wonders to increase your furnace's lifespan. If you run into furnace issues anyway during the winter, or if you'd prefer to leave some of the preventative maintenance to the pros, contact Kleve Companies, Inc. at 952-941-4211.
